Banksia integrifolia

Coastal Banksia

   

 

 

 

This Australian native tree or tall shrub grows in poor soils along the coast and ranges of Qld, NSW, central and eastern Vic and Tas.  It can reach heights of 25m.

 

The bark is rough and light grey and the leaves are 5-20cms long with a dark green top and pale grey underside. The flowers are pale yellow in cylindrical spikes and the cones (fruit) are grey oblong cylindrical cones with nyumerous protruding follicles contained seeds.
